Conspiracy theories and mistrust of the government

Never before have we seen such mistrust of government, especially by the privileged members of society. Conspiracy theories are quite a new topic and it has only recently be applied to certain governments, it used to be against certain minorities such as jewish people. It is now widespread and I think this is because of how much we have found out when our governments have kept things from us and also lied to us. Militaries being controlled by state is new and even more new is having intelligence agencies which are known to keeping secrets and even working against citizens. This is why I believe we need an open and honest government which is only possible under a world government. This would also end conspiracy theories and the mistrust of government.
